Doula
Jazzmin Nagy is a Mother to two young boys, ages 6 & 10. She was inspired after the birth of her eldest, Bo. When Bo was one, Jazzmin took her Doulas of North America (DONA) training and began her journey working with families in their child-bearing years. Jazzmin Nagy's passion for birth work began at the young age of four, when she was present at her Mothers home-birth. Instantly she was attracted to caring for her younger sister, Teal. From then on she dabbled in many professions, such as running a restaurant with her husband (and Chef) Michael. Jazzmin Nagy has been practicing as a birth & postpartum doula since 2008. She is trained by Doulas of North America (DONA) Jazzmin enjoys continuing to educate herself: Breastfeeding workshops, bereavement training, midwifery assistant workshop (in Tennessee), women studies; and more. She has attended a wide variety of births: both hospital & home. Jazzmin has supported many different families during the last nine years, working as a doula. She supports vaginal births, c-births, physiological birth, medicated birth & assisted births. Jazzmin works with all families. She enjoys getting the opportunity to work with returning clients, having their 2nd, 3rd + baby, & birth. Jazzmin serves a wide area: Bowen Island, the North Shore, Downtown Vancouver, East Van, Burnaby, and more! Apart from working as a doula, Jazzmin has been working as an office assistant in Midwifery Clinics. Pomegranate Community Midwives & Midwifery Care North Shore. From this experience, Jazzmin has grown and learned many new skills to add to her repertoire. Also, most of Jazzmin's clients are referrals from Midwives, various practitioners, and word-of-mouth. Jazzmin always look forward to working with new families, and aspires to enrol in UBC's Bachelor of Midwifery in the near future.
